Evolution Story
- The journey begun with two individuals - Vibhav Nuwal & Vishal Pandya getting e-connected through LinkedIn. The thought process matched, synergies struck and the idea of bringing innovation in Indian Power Market got officially incorporated with REConnect Energy on 22nd September, 2010.
- The team of two started working on Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) market and emerged as India's largest REC Trading Company within first 12 months of operations.
- The strong presence in REC market also helped us expand further in the new areas like Wind/Solar Power Forecasting and Scheduling. Under this, we developed some very valuable skills like large scale data processing and analytics, machine learning algorithms for predictive analysis, building scalable architecture for large IT platforms.
- REConnect launched India's first marketplace (clickpower.in) to transact renewable energy based bilateral contracts. The objective of the marketplace is to help consumer procure greener and cheaper power through a most transparent and cost-effective way. The platform also helps RE generators to map very large consumer base across key states in India. Today REConnect is working with several large generators and consumers and is effecting power transactions.Ram Kumar heads the Power Transaction space.
- All our work is supported by cutting edge IT driven tools. Focus on technology propelled us to scale up and build a presence in Wind Forecasting and Scheduling .Today REConnect's custom built technology drives the company which is now a leader in Forecasting and Scheduling services provision in India with a portfolio of more than 12GW. REConnect has a highly qualified technology development team and Madhusudan M C heads it.
- The work done under Wind Forecasting and Scheduling helped us win awards of Wind Facilitator of the Year (2014 and 2015) at 4th and 5th Wind IPP Summit Awards.
- Starting 2016 REConnect was awarded the project to monitor Wind Energy produced in entire Gujarat state by GETCO and also to schedule Wind Energy in Rajasthan by IWTMA. REConnect's Technology solutions and performance led to the winning Best Indian Start-up by GIZ – Germany, Berlin Boot Camp (2016).

Bruce Usher is The Elizabeth B. Strickler '86 and Mark T. Gallogly '86 Faculty Director of the Social Enterprise Program at Columbia Business School in New York City, where he teaches MBA students on the intersection of finance, social and environmental issues.Usher is an active investor in entrepreneurial ventures, having invested in 21 companies, including seven clean energy businesses.
Prof. Khaparde
Prof. Khaparde is with the Department of Electrical Engg. At IIT Bombay. His areas of expertise includes micro grids, distributed generation, smart grid, transmission pricing, transmission system expansion planning, restructured power systems, ancillary market designs. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engg., from IIT Kharagpur. He is with IIT Bombay since 1978.

Management
John D Rockerfeller once said – "A friendship founded on business is better than a business founded on friendship". And we truly subscribe to this. Diversity in thought process, complementarity of skillsets and ability to perceive things differently are at the core when it comes to our management team.
The management team at REConnect collectively represents about 7 years of experience in carbon & environmental markets,
5 years of experience in Solar EPC, 9 years of experience in power market, 7 years of experience in IT management,
12 years of experience in tax auditing and 14 years of experience in REC market.
Apart from the experience,
the team also represents the alumni network of the Columbia University, IIT Bombay,
Rotterdam School of Management – Erasmus University, Symbiosis and ICAI.
An engineer by heart and has passion for power markets. He brings good understanding on regulations, power system studies, market models, programming, algorithms and renewable energy.That makes him the holy grail of energy market.
Vishal Pandya Director
Vibhav is an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York, where his course work focused on environmental finance and markets. Vibhav is also a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in corporate finance, accounting and business strategy.
Vibhav Nuwal Director
He is responsible for the Business Development Activity in the REC field. In past, he has worked in senior management in a leading Carbon and Electricity Consulting Company.
Ram Kumar Director (Power Markets)
Madhusudan is a geeky electrical engineer who enjoys coding in his free time. He has a long trail of experience in IT, Strategy and general management.
