The journey begun with two individuals - Vibhav Nuwal & Vishal Pandya getting e-connected through LinkedIn. The thought process matched, synergies struck and the idea of bringing innovation in Indian Power Market got officially incorporated with REConnect Energy on 22nd September, 2010.
The team of two started working on Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) market and emerged as India's largest REC Trading Company within first 12 months of operations.
Within first three years, the team expanded to about 17 and the client portfolio reached about 2 GW of capacity of RE spread across India.
The journey also helped us discover few remarkable and extra-ordinary teammates who led the team from the front and helped us consolidate our market position further.
The strong presence in REC market also helped us expand further in the new areas like wind/solar power forecasting and scheduling. Under this, we developed some very valuable skills like large scale data processing and analytics, machine learning algorithms for predictive analysis, building scalable architecture for large IT platforms.
The work done under wind forecasting and scheduling helped us win another award of Wind Facilitator of the Year (2014) at 4th Wind IPP Summit Awards.
As a next step of innovation, we have now launched India's first marketplace (clickpower.in) to transact renewable energy based bilateral contracts. The objective of the marketplace is help consumer procure greener and cheaper power through a most transparent and cost-effective way. The platform also helps RE generators to map very large consumer base across key states in India.
